Orchard Cove, Hebrew SeniorLife’s continuing care retirement community in Canton, MA, celebrated a new beginning in June with the opening of its innovative Enhanced Living environment designed to maximize personal independence and nurture community for twenty-eight residents who require slightly increased support to enjoy their best lives.
“The Orchard Cove community now has a new, vibrant and engaging Enhanced Living space that is designed to bolster our ability to serve our residents and provide an environment that supports their best possible lives,” said Aline Russotto, Orchard Cove Executive Director. “It is also a new destination that can be enjoyed by all of our residents for dining, socializing and programming.”
Located on the top floor of Orchard Cove, the new space has a flowing floor plan connecting residences and common areas filled with natural light and a colorful interior décor that features original artwork from Orchard Cove’s collection.
A new all-day dining room, open to all residents of Orchard Cove, overlooks the ponds and woods of the campus. A newly added juice and smoothie bar featuring healthy, fresh beverages throughout the day has become a popular feature for all.
Enhanced living residents also benefit from the onsite medical care provided by the Hebrew SeniorLife Medical Group at Orchard Cove, staffed by Harvard Medical School affiliated physicians and medical specialists.
Orchard Cove’s resident centered care philosophy encourages residents to be actively involved in their care within a supportive environment and with staff who are attuned to the specific physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident. It’s an approach in which everything revolves around what is best for each Enhanced Living resident.
“Orchard Cove believes that setting and achieving goals with all residents is a foundation for living their best lives throughout our community, including Enhanced Living. We focus on these personal goals throughout our continuum of care which makes Enhanced Living a platform of life for all of Orchard Cove,” said Ilana Klarman, Enhanced Living Manager. “We have created a new destination within our continuum of care.”
“I’m most impressed by the staff’s thoughtful and gentle ability to anticipate your needs and offer support but never impose it on you,” said Dan Grodofsky, a 14-year resident of Orchard Cove who recently moved into an Enhanced Living apartment with his wife, Ida.
